Building Confidence – S Pollard (29/07/2019)
I have just finished my 10 week 1:1 training with Susan. I can not recommend her enough, she is a lovely person and great trainer. I have achieved things I never thought I could have and my body is so much stronger than before. I am missing my sessions but the confidence and skills she has taught me have enabled me to continue with my workouts at home.
Like’s a Push, Up for a Challenge – C Hill (25/01/19)
I would highly recommend Susan as a personal trainer to help anyone, at any level, improve their health and fitness. She has proven to be able to adapt and develop to meet my changing needs. Most importantly she makes the sessions fun and interesting, so often you don’t realise how hard you are working.
From the first conversation Susan was very friendly and understanding, she adapted exercises I couldn’t manage and encouraged me to push myself where I could. Over the next few months our weekly sessions have been varied and enjoyable and ultimately I have regained, and in some areas exceeded, my previous fitness levels and my love of exercise.
A New Mummy – A Freeman (18/01/2019)
I’ve been attending Susan’s baby & me fitness classes for a few months which led me to hiring Susan as a 1:1 PT.
Working with Susan 1:1 has been excellent not only for the results I’m seeing but also for the convenience of exercising in the comfort of my own home. I have continued eating and drinking what I like (within reason!) and have still lost a considerable amount of weight in a relatively short period of time.I have lost a total of 3 stone since my baby was born in June. I am now lighter and in better shape than I was before falling pregnant. Can’t recommend streamline personal training highly enough for helping me get my body back!
I’ve been training with Susan now since May and she helped me so much with getting wedding ready! Susan makes my online workouts super easy to follow and varies each and every work out so I never get bored. My strength and fitness levels have increased, I feel so much stronger and finally really enjoy going to the gym. Susan keeps in touch all the time, to make sure I have everything I need for my workouts and to help with motivation. I can’t thank her enough for helping me to love working out!!
I have been doing online personal training with Susan for 2 blocks now and it’s perfect for me as a busy working mum. It allows me to work out at times that suit me and as I can do the workouts at home it works around my family life. Susan is fantastic At keeping in contact to find out how everything is going and is very supportive. The workouts push me but in a good way and have never been anything I can’t manage. I have so much more energy now and have lost weight and toned up which was one of my aims. The exercise plan also got me fit enough to be able to complete the Moonwalk which was another of my goals. I would highly recommend Susan’s online personal training plans.
Working at my level: F McHaffie (27/2/18)
I’m half way through a block of PT sessions with Susan and really enjoying it!I love the flexibility of her coming to my house and the kids being able to join in. I suffer from back problems and she has been able to let me go at my own pace whilst helping me feel stronger! She is lovely and friendly and puts you at complete ease! The workouts have helped me prepare for this which means I could enjoy it!
Breaking in nicely: K Moir (15/12/17)
I have really enjoyed my work out plan, created for me on an individual basis. I have found that it ‘broke me in gently’, and then gradually increased in length and intensity. Susan Thank you for all your help and support this year. Super lady, with custom made support, diet and exercise for everyone! I am looking forward to my next session.
Feeling the benefits by just Online Training: K Drummond (25/3/17)
After avoiding the gym and exercise for about 6 months I contacted Susan to discuss an online fitness plan. Susan took my needs (and dislikes!) into consideration and provided a great, varied workout and I started to feel the benefits quickly. Also when I did get a bit of a back injury Susan adjusted my fitness schedule to ensure I could eventually start back training again without worrying about hurting my back. Susan kept me focused and was great at encouraging me and keeping in touch to see how the training was going. Many thanks!
Getting back into a good healthy routine: R Watson (12/2/17)
The 6 week online body transformation programme has really helped me get back into a good routine and my overall fitness has improved massively over the past few weeks which was has helped me be able to run after my toddler more but also prepare me for a few days away skiing.
Many thanks for all your advice and help along the way, I have enjoyed the journey.
My journey to a healthier lifestyle: E Kidd (20/10/16)
Stop, Start, Stop, Start, Forward, Back and Forward again. This is how I feel my weight loss journey has been and is. It is hard work and at the beginning I didn’t feel I was getting the results I deserved. I had to keep pushing through all my negative thoughts and to keep hold of why I am on this journey – To get fit, healthy and feel better about myself.
I had my first child in February 2015 and by August 2015 I had decided I wanted to do something about my level of fitness and weight. Looking back now I think I was suffering from post-natal depression as I struggled being around other people. I had tried slimming world a few years ago and decided I would give that a go to help me lose some weight. Between August to December I joined three times. I didn’t enjoy being around that many people and I needed more emotional support to help me start my journey.
Looking through Facebook one day I saw a friends post from Streamline Personal Training offering a 6 week body transformation course. They said it would help you transform the way you feel about yourself. I emailed Susan to ask about the course as I had not exercised in over 3 years and I was very concerned I wouldn’t be able to do the class. She gave me more information on the course and I thought I needed to start somewhere so why not here. The class was small and I felt very welcomed by Susan (I was very nervous inside starting the class). On completion of the course I felt I had achieved something as I went to all classes and did all the homework that was set. I did feel different within myself, I felt more confident in my ability.
After the course I had asked Susan if I could start some PT sessions, as I was feeling motivated to do more exercise. In these sessions I started to feel fitter but I still had not lost much weight. I went on holiday in the March and had put all the weight on I had lost and felt back at the beginning again. I was very hard on myself and felt very down. Susan asked me to think back to where I very first started and asked if I was back there again. It made me think, No I wasn’t. I felt fitter; I had more motivation and was feeling more like myself again for the first time since having my son. I carried on with the PT sessions and food diary. I still wasn’t losing a huge amount of weight but was feeling much fitter.
As I was feeling this new level of fitness I decided to sign myself up for a 5k and my goal was to get round it with my friend who is a lot fitter than me. As my friend was fitter I knew I had to up my fitness levels to keep up with her. I put myself under a lot of pressure. 8 weeks before the event, when I told Susan how nervous I was about it. Susan asked me why are you doing it? Why are you putting yourself through this? It was the wake up call I needed. I ran our usual 3k nonstop for the first time and it felt great. From that day on I was more engaged with my training. I did the 5k and just managed to keep up with my friend.
Susan then told me about her plans for on line training. I was a bit nervous about this as I am not the best motivator for myself. I told Susan I wanted to be active for 5 days out of the week but the training couldn’t be more than 45 minuets as to ensure I fit it in. Even then at the back of my mind I thought am I really going to do this when Susan isn’t here to cheer me on and push me. I had also decided to start back with the food diary and the fitbit to help keep me motivated as well. Since training 5 days a week and also being more mindful about what I eat and drink, I started to see a big difference in my weight. Since the start of my journey I have lost just over a stone. It has been a roller coaster of a journey with lots of ups and downs but I am managing it. I have more weight to lose but now I feel like I can achieve it rather than it being a pipe dream. My original goal was to be fitter and feel better about myself. I am fitter and now I have confidence to take my son out on day trips myself. I can’t thank Susan enough for the support she has given me. She has lifted me up when I am feeling down or disappointed with my performance and she has also given me a reality check when I needed it the most. The level of support I get has kept me focused and motivated to stick with my journey and to see the results.
My advice – Get started, no matter how slow or how small a change, keep going, even when you have had a hard week and feel you have taken a step back, take a step forward again. Forwards, backwards and forwards, will get you further from where ever you started.
Exceeded, my previous fitness levels and my love of exercise: C Hill (31/8/16)
I would highly recommend Susan as a personal trainer to help anyone, at any level, improve their health and fitness. She has proven to be able to adapt and develop to meet my changing needs. Most important makes the sessions fun and interesting, so often you don’t realise how hard you are working.I first started working with Susan 2 months after having my second child. I was still pretty broken and desperate to feel like my old self again but slightly lacking in motivation and impetus. From the first conversation Susan was very friendly and understanding, she adapted exercises I couldn’t manage and encouraged me to push myself where I could. Over the next few months our weekly sessions have been varied and enjoyable and ultimately I have regained, and in some areas exceeded, my previous fitness levels and my love of exercise.antly she
Exactly what I needed: V Merlet (5/9/16)
Susan was exactly what I needed last January!! Her positivity, encouragement and infectious smile got me exercising again. The home visits at times to suit me meant there was no excuse not to train.
The exercises were tough but always at the right level to push me.
I would recommend her to everyone!
Little free time: Y Littlefield (14/7/16)
With little free time in the week, I would very much look forward to my sessions with Susan. Each one was varied, suitably hard and exactly what I needed. After 9 months, I was feeling noticeably fitter and healthier. Susan is friendly and fun, and exactly what I needed to kick start my healthier regime.
Feeling encouraged: Y McDougall (28/3/16)
I highly recommend Susan as a personal trainer. As well as being a lovely fun person, Susan is very positive, caring and encouraging. She puts a lot of thought into planning the training sessions – what you might enjoy, what might work well for you – and has always been flexible (with the timing and content of the sessions) and very professional.
How keeping fit helped my diastis recti: R Khindria (1/9/15) – Baku Azerbaijan
Susan came into my life at a perfect time. I was just told that I needed to work on my diastis recti and needed a personal trainer to help me understand the correct way to work out for my body. Living overseas and trying to find a trainer was daunting but luckily Susan was in the country and so we began. It was tough at first but Susan kept me motivated and gave me small goals to accomplish between our workouts. She understood the importance of what I was working on and made sure that the workouts were strong and did not compromise the rest of my body. Her workouts were always different and she kept me on my toes. I looked forward to getting into the gym with Susan. She always made me feel like I could do it. She taught me how to adjust exercises so that I could do them and she never let me give up. I trusted her and with that trust I was able to run longer on the treadmill and feel strong in a plank. I am still working on my diastis recti but now I feel more confident in the gym and I know that my workouts will not make it worse and my entire body is getting more fit. Thank you Susan for all this and much more.
More than just losing weight: L Cortes (10/7/15) – Baku Azerbaijan
Susan, I wanted to tell you thank you so much for all your help you have given me the last 6 months. When we met I had only one goal in mind and that was to lose weight. I came to you, after my second child, and I was so impressed by the end of my 6 months I just wish we had more time. What I didn’t realize was when you became my personal trainer I was going to do something much more than just lose weight. Losing weight is only a one of the many benefits of working out. I became much stronger mentally as well as physically. I learned to think through the work out when it got hard and to not just go through the motions. Even when you gave me a workout that I thought was impossible I achieved it! Also I learned to push my self even when I am by myself, which is the hardest to learn. Working with you gave me strength and focus to keep moving forward on my goals even though you have returned back home. I am still working to achieve my goals now and I sincerely thank you for all that you have done for me. Just a little update I am now 15lbs from reaching my goal weight that I wanted by December! Much love and thanks!

This classes have made me feel better about myself and no way am I giving up now :))

Lacking in motivation since having a child: A Zhao (28/6/15) – Baku Azerbaijan
I’m a mother with a 2-years-old boy. A while back I was lacking of motivation to exercise and decided to work with a personal trainer for a few weeks. I found Susan on the web, and she provided also special fitness group for mothers with kids.
I found it perfect for mother who doesn’t have time to go to the gym.
I ended up training with her for 3 months with the group, and I loved every minute of it. She’s been providing such a big motivation and she’s been very positive. I was looking forward to every appointment.
She is a master at her trade and truly cares about each client.
I highly recommend her as a personal trainer.
Finding it hard to motivate whilst living away from home: H Atikinson (4/04/15) – Baku Azerbaijan
After moving to Baku (Azerbaijan) I was really keen to get back into some form of fitness and excising but living in a new city and with two small children I was a bit stuck and not feeling very motivated. Susan offered the perfect solution … small group classes for mums (with the option to bring small people along for the fun!) Susan tailors classes and exercises to individuals, offering different levels giving a PT feel within a supportive small class group. She is motivating, encouraging and importantly has a lot of patience and is flexible to accommodate the needs of mums and their little ones. We miss our classes.Thank you Susan. Noticing the difference: K Kooy (10/2014)
“Susan was my personal trainer in 2014 – we met weekly for around three months. I definitely noticed an improvement in my fitness due to my sessions with Susan, and by following the programme a couple of times in between. Susan is friendly and capable and will get you to work hard!”
Achieving results: J Spence (09/2014)
“I’ve been training with Susan for a few months and as my first Personal Trainer I found her to be very professional, supportive and motivational. I feel fitter and stronger with the added bonus of losing some weight! I would recommend Susan to anyone as she will help you achieve great results.”
First Experience and may it continue: J & D Feachen (08/2014)
“This was our first experience of using a personal trainer and we found Susan knowledgable and professional making us feel very much at ease regardless of fitness levels. Every session was different which kept us motivated, using a range of exercises tailor-made to achieve our fitness goals. On a personal note Susan is friendly and good fun; each session, while producing some groans, also contained laughter! It goes without saying that my husband and I look forward to working with her again in the future.”
Breaking the rut: N Rasmussen (08/2014)
“Susan helped me break out of my exercise rut and get in shape for the summer. She took the time to really get to know my fitness goals and created routines that felt very personalized. I really like the fact that she puts such an emphasis on cross-training. Workouts with her were never boring and each session was different enough to keep me motivated. Highly recommend Susan as a personal trainer – it was a great experience!” N Rasmussen (08/14)
Never thought I could run a 10k: R Macphail (02/2014)
“This time last year I would have described myself as the epitome of somebody who ‘couldn’t run’. I had been telling myself from childhood that I wasn’t built for running, luckily for me Susan believes everyone is able to run.
The first runs were light, and to be honest, looking back, they were easy. Susan was always at my side, encouraging me to reach my next goal, which, sometimes, was just the next lamppost. Gradually the runs got a bit longer, and a little bit tougher, they incorporated hills!! Yet I still managed them, albeit with A LOT of grumbling, which Susan kindly ignored. The real boost to my runs however was the little tips she gave me along the way. When you run on your own – or listening to an app, there is no one to tell you (repeatedly) to relax your shoulders, breath in through your nose out through your mouth, and it may sound easy – but at the time your mind is on so many other things, such as surviving! I now think about my posture, where my shoulders are, how I am breathing, I don’t always get it right – but I now know the tricks to making a run enjoyable, thanks to Susan.
So in summation, I am still running, still learning little tricks from Susan, such as lifting your knees (in truth, she has been telling me that one from day one!) I completed the Survival of the Fittest in October last year, have signed up for a 5k (for fun!!) and am aiming on completing a 10k this year too. Not bad for a girl who believed she wasn’t built for running!!”
Getting back to it for my big day: L Moore (2014)
As a bride to be it is great to get the support that Streamline Personal Training provides with the body measurements, food diaries and providing workout programmes to use when on holiday. Susan is great at pushing me to work my hardest and I am already feeling the benefits. As someone who has just got back into exercise a couple of months ago I find the exercises easy to follow and although it can sometimes be challenging it is always achievable.
Keeping me focused – Natalie Clark (31/01/2013)
After gaining a stone I decided I need to do something about it. I contacted Susan to discuss a fitness plan, Susan took my needs into consideration and best of all kept the sessions varied so I never got fed up. I have now lost the weight and kept it off. Thanks Susan for keeping me focused.

Susan has been working personally with me since September 2011, the results have been extremely swift, the fasted I have ever dropped a dress size even with the inevitable set backs of Christmas dos and dinner! Since starting training with Susan I am more toned and defined and in better shape fitness-wise than since I was at school! I have achieved a ‘personal best’ with my running, and am feeling better than ever, my total weight loss is 5kilos
Excellent Personal Trainer – Edinburgh – SarahStaples (10/02/2012)
I have been with Susan for 6 months now and the results have been impressive. I initially contacted Susan as I wanted to loose 1 and a half stone, tone up and improve my overall fitness and I am thankful that I have achieved all those goals. Susan explains everything very thoroughly and the reasons why we are doing what we are doing so I then understood how what I was doing made me loose the weight. The nutritional advice that I was give was also a real eye opener and has genuinely made me change my eating habits long term. Although I have reached my targets I will continue to see Susan on a regular basis as she is the motivation I need!
Positive, motivational, realistic and friendly – Janeybro (16/10/2011)
I would unreservedly recommend Susan McFarlane (Streamline Personal Training) as a Personal Trainer. I have been using Susan’s services for almost 12 months and I am amazed at the improvement to my lower back problems, which have a caused me pain for 15 years. Initially I started using Susan for PT sessions to improve my overall fitness levels and more recently for strengthening my lower back. Susan is friendly and approachable, she listens attentively to my needs, makes my workout fun, knows when not to push me too hard (when recovering from illness) and she is a great motivator!
5 star Susan at Streamline Personal Training- nic_1979 (15/08/2011)
It’s very easy to get comfortable in your exercise schedule, get stuck in a rut and lose all motivation to do anything! I had been following the same exercise routine for years by going to spin and body pump classes and occasionally working alone in the gym. I wasn’t seeing any results so decided to look into a personal trainer. A few years ago I found Susan at Streamline Personal Training, and since then I haven’t looked back. Susan is a highly professional individual whose advice, support and weekly encouragement has been invaluable. In addition to structuring my sessions to my goals, Susan also takes full body measurements to track progress with the option of completing weekly food diaries for reviewing together. I always look forward to each session as they are fun and varied, and they always push me to my limits and beyond. Muscles ache that I didn’t know I had! Susan also ramped up my training prior to my wedding to get me in the shape I wanted to be before my big day. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Streamline Fitness to anyone looking to kick start their fitness or lose weight
