I'm back! My return from maternity leave, and a chat about online training!


Welcome to my first blog post! As I am sure you are aware, I’ve recently been dipping my toes back into Streamline Personal Training after having my second son Finn, and I thought now was as good a time as any to catch you up with all things Susan, and Streamline!

I can’t believe Finn boy has been in my life for 4 months now and he is doing great. He is such a happy smiley boy. He loves people and always has a smile for everyone who says hello to him! Not only has it been a wee shock back to reality for me having a baby again to look after after 5 years but also for my older son Blair. It’s been a big change for him too and it’s been a pretty big year for him. He started school and then became a big brother, but he has taken to it great and he loves his wee brother! Don’t get me wrong he has his moments, and yip jealousy kicks in here and there, but no big surprise when it’s just been him for 5 years!


My maternity leave has been lovely - so nice to experience being a mummy 2nd time round and spending lots of time with Finn and Blair too, but I can definitely agree with other mums! The second time round is not the same as the first time; when you’ve got an older child and they are at school, 3pm comes around far too quickly!

With Finn being a winter baby lots of days have been spent indoors catching up with friends and family, but when a dry day occurs we have spent the time out in the pram for walks - movement and fresh air definitely helps with the postpartum/newborn tiredness 😀


So as I begin to build Streamline Personal Training back up again I wanted to chat to you a little bit about online personal training. Flexibility with my work schedule is obviously a concern for me at the moment, but I know it’s also a concern for a lot of you.


If traditional in person Personal Training isn’t for you and you are looking for a more budget friendly and flexible option to get fit, then my online training programmes are for you. I can still tailor your workout to reach your goals and get the most from your programme. 



Streamline PT Online Training


Training plans will give you a full breakdown of each workout, and how to get the best out of each session and get the exercises right. No more second guessing yourself and no more wasted time. Here’s a little more on some of the benefits of online training with me;


Customisation: I can tailor workout plans to your specific goals, abilities, and preferences, ensuring you're not wasting time on exercises that aren't effective for you, or wasting time doing things you just don’t particularly like doing! 


Education: Unlike grabbing a DIY youtube video or other workout, I can provide instructions on how to perform the exercises in your programme correctly, reducing the risk of injury and making sure you are really getting the best from each movement - proper form matters!


Progress: I can gradually increase the intensity of your workouts as you become fitter and stronger, and more confident - whilst hopefully keeping it fun and interesting for you!


Variety : I aim to introduce a variety of exercises and training techniques to keep your workouts fresh and challenging - I don’t want you getting bored and falling off the wagon!


Accountability and Motivation: Having me in your corner creates some accountability - and while I’ll never pick on you for not getting it done, I will  provide motivation, encouragement, and support, helping you stay consistent and focused on your fitness journey.


Goal Setting: I can help you set realistic and achievable fitness goals, and track your progress over time


Flexibility and Convenience: Online workout plans offer flexibility over traditional personal training - allowing you to exercise at a time and place that suits you. You can access your workouts easily from home, the gym, or while traveling, making it easier to stay consistent and motivated.

So as I get back into work mode I’ve been thinking about how best to serve my clients - and have some exciting new tech to help myself and my online clients have the best experience. 


I am beginning to roll out a new online Streamline Personal Training coaching app which includes; fitness, nutrition, and habit-coaching features, plus in-app messaging, progress tracking and video recorded exercises and workouts. It's everything you need to motivate and inspire you to hit your health and fitness goals. Using this software I can create workouts for you that can be designed for gym, home, or outdoors and can be tailored to suit you and your goals, giving you all the advantages from above!


The best way to work with me at the moment while I get back into work (and a schedule!)  is definitely either by online workout programmes or 1:1 coaching through zoom, FaceTime or WhatsApp. It gives me the benefit of being able to be flexible with days/times that work great for me, around the boys, and I know can be very beneficial for most of you right now as we all are living very busy lives! I also truly believe that online training can have a huge impact in a really time efficient way.
